/ the problem

Running several coding agents at once, you lose track of which are working, which are blocked waiting on you, and which have quietly finished. Every tool reports that differently, and most do not report it outside their own window at all.

/ approach

  • Reads Claude Code sessions and their subagents from the on-disk session transcripts, plus a session registry for liveness
  • Detects the other CLIs — Codex, Copilot CLI, Cursor Agent, Grok, Gemini — by scanning local processes, enriched from each tool's own logs where it keeps them
  • Per-CLI source adapters behind a single collector interface, with a completion-detection precedence chain that resolves signals which disagree
  • A status-bar summary plus a live dashboard webview; clicking a session already running in the window reveals that exact terminal tab
  • Local by design — no server, no network, and no vendor API in the discovery path

/ results

  • Published to the Visual Studio Marketplace, and to Open VSX so Cursor can resolve it
  • Nothing leaves the machine: discovery reads local processes and transcripts only
  • Collector ported out of an earlier Python server into TypeScript inside the extension, removing the separate daemon it used to need
