Sep 2024 – Aug 2025A year building distributed autonomy software for a cargo aircraft in remote environments — part of North America's first peer-to-peer heterogeneous autonomous aircraft search-and-rescue mission (with the NRC). Worked across the flight stack: embedded drivers, real-time data systems, simulation, comms, and controls.

- Real-time data path: zero-copy passing for deterministic sub-100 ms telemetry cycles
- Built the X-Plane 11 simulation bridge for hardware- and software-in-the-loop (HITL/SITL) testing of the full flight stack
- Integrated flight-software modules across state estimation and control into the autonomy pipeline
- Multi-threaded RF audio streaming over the comms link, with custom buffer management
- Defined test strategy and integration tests that surfaced integration issues on the ground, before flight

Most engineers pick a layer of the stack and stay there. The problems I like refuse to: the board shapes the firmware, the firmware constrains the control loop, and the software on top inherits every decision made beneath it. Following that thread has taken me from bare-metal rovers to an autonomous quadruped to distributed systems — each new discipline learned because the problem demanded it. The reward is always the same: watching something I built hold up in the real world — a quadruped keeping pace with a person, a rover finding one — and knowing exactly who it's working for.
Varsity wrestling and rowing at UofT, national-level MMA/BJJ (Canadian nationals bronze), and a national-level swimmer in India. The through-line: I seek out environments with a high bar.
